Gracie's first day of pre-school (- 2nd year)

Gracie loves coming to pre school. It is a little different this year, with the new teacher when Lori is gone (Mrs. Natalie). With Sayler in kindergarten, it has lifted a ton of stress, while I am working at the pre school. It also seems like Gracie is focusing a little more too. So far now that we have been in school for 2 weeks, it has gone really well. I hope it just gets better.

Sacrament Meeting

Today was a very special sacrament meeting. Bishop Gentry forgot to call the people to talk, so he got up and talked about his favorite hymn. We sang the first verse, and then he got up and said we will have testimonies until 5 after, but just share your favorite hymn, and we will sing what ever verse you want. It was really cool and I was glad that we did it. we sang so many hymns, one guy got up and he wanted us to sing "called to serve", but we all had to stand up. Some songs reminded me about my grandparents, like "The spirit of god", and "How great thou art". It brought a tear to my eyes, as they are no longer with us. My favorite one right now is "How firm a foundation". I love it. We will have the regular testimony meeting in 2 weeks, but this was different than any other and I want to remember it. :)

Gracie "the do it yourselfer "

This spring Sayler rode a 2 wheeler after plenty of practice.Well, the other day a neighbor kid knocked on my door and said Gracie is riding a 2 wheeler! What!!!??? I didn't even try to help her. She mostly rode her Big wheel the whole summer, and only rode Saylers old bike since the end of august so only like a week with training wheels. We took them off to let Sayler ride it because hers is still a little too big. Well Gracie was putting up a stink to ride it. I told her just to use your feet and not pedal- this was 2 days ago. With no help Gracie taught herself to ride. I hate to think what lies ahead. :/

So here is the little stink that rode a bike with no help what so ever.

Saylers first day of kindergarten

My baby is in Kindergarten! How did that happen so fast? Well, Sayler had a great time her first day of school. There is a little stuffed killer whale that goes on the table when someone is in the bathroom ( she really likes it for some reason). She was told 2 stories the night before kindergarten and the kissing hand. she colored a hand and cut out a heart to glue on it. She learned how to say I love you in sign language and she got some playdough. she loves her teahcer Mrs. Diamond.
(I am sure she did more but this is what she told me.

sayler and Mrs. Diamond

lining up outside to get picked up

the first day was a success!

No tears.

Saylers Birthday Party

Sayler is so big. She will be going to kindergarten this year (Holy cow!). She can read she is always my helper and can do anything . She is so smart. I love this big girl so much! She is such a little sweet heart, the other day she came and brought me all her money in her piggy bank and said here mommy. I said wow you have lots of money. Then I gave it back and she said no, I want you to have it, with tears in her eyes she said "because I know you don't have very much money". ( what a little hear melter.)Then she cried for a minute. she is so thoughtful. she even told gracie she would give her all her money in her piggy bank so she could buy something , ( because Gracie was sad that she got cool stuff from her birthday). So tender hearted. This year she wanted a minnie mouse party, so I made some decorations on the cricut and made her her very own minnie mouse cake and everyone their own minnie mouse cupcake. She was so thrilled. She also rides her new bike sooo good! Here are a few pics from the party. ( sayler likes to come out first thing in the morning to ride her bike so she is in jammies) lol.

"Itold you no running in the house"!

Gracie whacked her head on the dresser, running in the house.
Sayler comes down and says that Gracie is bleeding. so I go and I pick her up and sit her on the counter, and look at it. I took a big breath in , and said come on girls get in the car we have to go to the Dr. ( in more of a rushed tone though). Luckily they just opened a new wee care pediatrics right by my house. I walked in and no one was there, thank goodness. we went right back, and got her all ready for stitches. she didn't cry or whine or flinch the whole time! She was so brave! She got 4 stitches.

she was so brave the dr. wanted to video tape it and show other kids getting stitches! she got 5 suckers for being so good!

my hair

recently I decided to color my own hair since I had no money for my stylist to do it. I had some color in my bathroom for quite a while, but was too scared to try it myself. My roots were so bad that I just decided to do it. Needless to say I had a black hand and arm. I guess mom was right, I am part black! (only for a day or two) here is the finished product. I don't know if I like it. what do you think?

The smith family reunion

This year we went to Heise Hot Springs. We had a lot of fun during the day, as you can see. We had fun activities, games, and lots of visiting with family. Ryans dad brought a cool water slide for the kids and they were entertained for hours and hours on that thing. We also got to see a darling baby. Ryans cousin Vanessa just had a baby girl named Sylvie and she was so cute.
There were also cute little poodle puppies. During the night was a different story to all the fun- We froze our butts off in the tent, we were right by the road and the cars were going way to fast. There was also the snoring of "Mikki the bear" I say that because I couldn't believe that she could snore like that! wowie! The next night I go to get in the tent for bed and Gracie started whining, and then all of a sudden threw up! So I get her cleaned up and drag everything out and rinsed off, And she did it again, but this time just on some towels and pajamas. Get it cleaned up and lay down and in the middle of the night she threw up again 2 times. I just chucked everything out of the tent washed her face and layed her down. Then I start smelling poop. I checked her and she woke up and said she needed to go potty- so I truck her down and notice she did go in her pants. UGH! so I threw out a total of 3 undies because she kept sharting her pants. Good thing I brought extra! The fire works were great though. The kids slept the whole 3 hours home, which they never sleep in the car!
